A legend from Valley & his family Hakim Shyam Lal Bhat

Pandit shyam lal Bhat was born in the year 1900 to a legendary Scholar & Unani Hakim Pandit Sahaz  Bhat  in Srinagar, Kashmir .He had strong  lineage consisting of philosophers scholars and Royal physicians.

Among the four siblings he was the eldest. Following his father’s footsteps he became legend in his own right in modern Kashmir. He graduated from Lahore and had a distinction of being first graduate of dynasty. He had a formal education in Unani System of medicine and qualified as Tabib-i- Hazik from Lahore University.

Like his father he had deep interest in languages, poetry & literature. He was fond of Ehsan Danish (1914-1982) Pakistani romantic turned revolutionary Poet and Rawish Siddqui Indian poet.
